A lot has been happening on my Legion of Angels Kickstarter front. Last week, I received the last of the newly-extended ultra-wide cover artwork from the artists. These will be used for the print editions of the books, including paperbacks and the new hardcover dust jackets. Here’s a preview of one of the beautiful pieces.

Angel's Flight art

I’m testing out a lot of new fancy print features with these special editions, including gold foiling on the covers and full-color endpapers with brand new Legion of Angels illustrations in the hardcovers. I’ll be sharing two custom illustrations featuring Leda and Nero soon.

I’m doing the print layout for the 13 books. I’ve already completed most of them (I just need to finish writing Leda’s Log before I do that one too). I’ll adjust these as necessary when I get the printed proofs. Here’s a look at the test I did over the weekend to make sure the text on the books’ spines is all lined up, which is super-important if you suffer from OCD like I do. 😉

Note: these are mockups of the hardcover spines, not the actual printed copies, which I don’t have yet.

And just today, I got notice that my paperback and hardcover proofs of Vampire’s Kiss have been shipped! Hopefully, everything looks good, so I can order proofs of the remaining books in the series. I’m also still waiting on the sprayed edges art for the paperbacks and hardcovers, but I expect to get that early this month.

In other news, I’m currently working on Arina’s epic story, a Legion of Angels spinoff series. I hope to have the first book ready in the next month or so. Stay tuned for more news!
